About

The Foundation has been created to support Canadians who have wounds or are at risk for wounds or those who manage these individuals. Focused on raising awareness about wounds and providing financial support for programs that help prevent wounds. The Foundation intends to fund research and educational campaigns focused on wound care. Our desire is to help bring prevention and awareness of wounds to the forefront of care locally, regionally, and nationally.

Dr RG Sibbald has championed the proliferation of wound care as a more specialised clinical practice across Canada over the past 30 years. Fourteen years ago, he founded an organisation, WoundPedia, that has positively impacted wound management and care not only across Canada but also Internationally. Over the years, WoundPedia has developed an array of programs that has made it one of the country’s leading providers of evidenced-based best practice, wound care information and educational programs. WoundPedia has become one of Canada’s and the world’s reliable resources for healthcare professionals, patients, and community partners.

We believe all those caring for or suffering from wounds, can live in a better world.
