Peggy Ahearn Named Chair of WoundPedia Education Foundation

Having spent a lifetime in various wound care initiatives Peggy Ahearn is the perfect choice to head up the WoundPedia Education Foundation.




A Registered Nurse by profession, her career in health care crosses fields of clinical care, sales, marketing, publishing and not-for-profit management. Her experience as a Senior Product Manager for Wound Care for Sancella (now Mölnlycke) introduced her into her current specialty.


"For over 15 years, I was President of The Medicine Group, a communications company specializing in Continuing Medical Education (CME) and it was during this time that I met Dr Gary Sibbald. This experience introduced me to the world of wound care and this is where I remained for the remainder of my working career. I am honoured to be asked to chair the foundation", Peggy Ahearn

Peggy’s present responsibilities, as Director of Strategic Initiatives for Wounds Canada, include strategic planning, business development, client relationships and her tenure. as Executive Director of the Canadian Association of Wound Care from 2011 to 2013 makes her an outstanding candidate for the position of chair.
